Meooow…Saturday, August 8th, 2026 is International Cat Day…a day just for us cats! The day reminds humans that we need care, kindness, and safe places to rest. Some of us are fortunate enough to have loving families, while others wait patiently in shelters, hoping for love.
This day also feels connected to long ago, when cats in Ancient Egypt were treasured as friends and guardians. I like to think that they knew how special we are. International Cat Day is a reminder that we still need kindness, patience, and gentle hands to guide us.
Just many more sleeps, then it’s our special day. I hope by then more cats will have warm homes, full bowls, and hearts that love them. That is the world I dream of: a place where every cat is safe, wanted, and cared for, always!
