New Cat on the Block

Cat Mollie in our Garden, Andalucia, Spain.

Meooow…it’s me, Mollie. One day, while wandering through my neighborhood in Andalucia, I found a door that felt different. I meowed softly, hoping someone inside would notice. Instead of pushing me away, the humans offered me milk and treats. That kindness felt like an invitation, so I decided to stay.

They began calling me Mollie. I don’t mind the name, especially since it comes with food, comfort, and a house full of pillows and couches for me to claim. Sometimes I even curl up on the bed. My humans pretend it bothers them, but I know they secretly love having me close.

When the sun is out, I spend my days on the terrace, watching over the garden. Rabbits sometimes appear, and I chase them with excitement. When I catch one, I bring it back as a gift for my humans. Strangely, they don’t seem very impressed by this. They don’t yet understand it is one of my greatest skills.

Then, one day, another cat appeared inside my territory. To my surprise, my humans welcomed her too. They fed her, stroked her, and even gave her a name: Linda. I tried to scare her away at first. I meowed, hissed and fought, but she did not leave. Now she stays, just like I do, with the same food and affection.

It is not always easy to share. But this is still my home. To me, two cats seem like one too much…well, perhaps, with time, I will learn to accept that it can be hers too…meooow…
